In Joliet, shops are busiest on Monday mornings and before holiday weekends, so a mid-week appointment gets a car seen faster. Labor rates across Illinois vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.

The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. Typical hours are 8 am–6 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. This is the WORSE place to go!!! I went TWICE for the same problem and they told me BOTH times that it was 2 different problems. NEITHER were right!!!! They got me out of $250. Finally took it to a REAL MECHANIC and it was my Thermostat a simple and easy fix!! DO NOT get a DIAGNOSTIC done here they DO NOT have the real Machine they ONLY GUESS what the problem may be!! I wouldn't go here to get windshield wiper fluid put in and or ANY work done!!!

The worst place to take your car. I was just here for a simply oil change because I was out of town drove home and my dashboard was stating needs oil engine. I first I had thought it could have been a leak but there were never no leaks they just put the bare minimum oil to the car just to run. I wish I had read the reviews first. This place is definitely a scam scam. I called to tell them I didn't get my money worth and they never reached out to find a solution. They looked up to see who did my oil change and it was the OWNER. Another reason I decide to go here to support small business, but never again I had to spend more money to fill my oil level. He knows what he is doing. What goes around comes around. -Negative stars

Showed up to a different shop nearby and they were closed even though google said they should have been open. So i drove to velazquez hoping for help. Thank you for helping me out with my vehicle when many other shops in the area were unavailable. Reasonable pricing, 4 cars ahead of me but they are fast service shop and got my car back on the road in 2 hours. Car is now driving smooth after they were done and I was relieved. I was stressed out all morning looking for a shop and im glad I went here. Will be recommending from now on.

I had a great experience here. I had a wheel alignment done for only $80. You'll pay $150 or more elsewhere. I came in when they opened at 8 AM and was done in less than 2 hours. There are NO appointments and this is cash only (No credit cards). I do recommend Velasquez. Thank you.
